Apartment Demise 22nd and Mission

I watched this structure burn - it seemed completely unneccesary. What began as a very small fire in one apartment slowly painfully spread into a major conflagration. We theorized the numerous fire fighters hesitated to shoot water in that one window, as there was a large densits office directly beneath it. End result the whole beautiful building was trashed. On the other hand, the pesky rent controlled long term residents were conveniently removed, and now something cheap and horrible can be erected exacting market-rate rents and further suffocating the neighborhood. Ya-Hoo.
